The Windows Are Installed!!!

Ok, so here it is!! As of March 26, all of the windows are in, and what a job that was! On February 22, the four triangle windows were delivered . All four and their crate weighed 2100 hundred pounds. Yikes!! It took four guys to install each one, and yes, one of them broke. If you look to the farthest left corner of this picture, you can see it leaning up against the house. I told Lee to stop throwing rocks at it and save it for my greenhouse (!!!!!). It is such a relief to have those windows installed and looking so pretty. Now, on to interior framing. Hooray!!

Babies

I'm thinking about babies today. One was just born this evening to my high school friend Mary who lives in Philadelphia. Another baby was due to be born in a couple of weeks, but somehow, someway, some"why" she's gone. I was reading The Children's Living Bible and searched out this Psalm:
"You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body, and knit them together in my mother's womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! It is amazing to think about. Your workmanship is marvelous-and how well I know it. You were there while I was being formed in utter seclusion! You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your Book! Psalm 139:13-16
I have to be comforted knowing that God is in control of this crazy world, and he already has overcome it. I'm grateful and thankful that God knows me and will be right by my side as I travel through the days he has before me. I know I'm going to need him.

Sweet Potato Muffins

These are the best muffins ever. I got the recipie from magazine called Wondertime and of course, had to modify it to the tastes of the little gobblers in the house (myself included-I love them!). Here it is:

*Mix the following until creamy:
1 stick of butter softened
3/4 cup honey
2 large eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk (or just regular milk. I don't think it really matters here.)
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup sweet potato (or up to 1 1/3 cup)

*Mix the following and add to above mixture until just blended:
2 cups flour (1 whole wheat, 1 white)
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp gound ginger
1 tsp cinnamon (I like cinnamo so I usually add a heaping teaspoon)
1/2 tsp nutmeg

Bake at 350 for about 14 minutes for mini muffins, or 18-20 for regular sized. These freeze well too. Enjoy!
Our Dewatto abode, a work in progress but nearing completion! We started this little project about five years ago, back when we only had one kid. Two more puts the pressure on! This is actually an old picture because now the windows are installed (YEAHHHH!!) as of two days ago. A more recent picture will follow...when I get to it.
